Monthly Message From Ginger<>July 2006:I recently took some time off to celebrate the 4th of July and enjoy a long weekend. During that time I did what I tell clients to do to self nurture: I slept until waking without an alarm, read a book for fun, napped, read a book for personal growth, watched movies and read a book for professional growth. I did not do any work at all, but instead enjoyed and even celebrated freedom from work as our nation was celebrating our freedom as a country. Celebrating freedom reminded me of the first several verses of Isaiah 61 that many years ago someone “gave” me. I believe God gave the passage to me as a promise for my ministry to wounded people, but I also see in it what freedom God wants His children to have. The scripture says: “The Spirit of the sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness the blind, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion, to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” God wants you to celebrate the good news that He loves you and that He has a plan for you and that you can trust Him. His plan is this: He sees the tears of your grief and He wants to heal your broken heart. He wants you to have freedom from your past and freedom from the things that have hurt you. In the things that have grieved you in this life, He wants to comfort you. He wants your eyes to be opened to things you have never seen before. Your precious Heavenly Father wants you to rejoice in every day that He has given you and in every plan He has for you. He wants you to enjoy an abundant life of peace and of joy. And in this we will be able to display His splendor the same way a mighty oak displays the power and splendor of God. You may not be at a place in your life where any of this has meaning for you. Don’t give up! God wants this for you, His precious child, keep seeking Him and He will help you achieve it at the moment it is perfect for you. God bless you! -Ginger Back to Current Monthly Message See Previous Monthly Messages:
