Monthly Message From Ginger

Music is one of the ways God can really touch us. A good example is David in the book of Psalms and how these songs soothed King Saul when he was agitated. One of the best ways to start our day (and ending it as well) is to listen, really listen, to praise and worship music. We can also use the words of songs as a prayer to the Lord.

One of my favorite CD's is Lifesong by Casting Crowns. If you haven't heard this CD yet, you are missing a blessing. One day while driving to the office, I was listening to this CD and some of the words to one of their songs (entitled "In Me") really touched my heart. That day and many days since then, those words have become a prayer for me.

These are the words I pray:

If You ask me to deliver Your people from Satan's hand I'll go, but I cannot go alone, cause I know I'm nothing on my own, but the power of Christ in me makes me strong...to reach out with Your hands, to learn through Your eyes, to love with the love of a savior, to feel with Your heart, and to think with Your mind, I'd give my last breath for Your glory."

I can only hope these words ring true in my life as I seek to minister to those who are hurting. I hope that you too will pray these words to our gracious Lord and Father as you too minister to others.
